Spain may have taken the win last Sunday… but we’ve taken their hot summer weather for the week! Now that the stress of the Euros is out of the way, we can soak up the sun while feasting on some excellent PR creative campaigns.
Royal Mail delivered on creativity, 90s toy Furby won fame overseas and YouTube campaign #TeamSeas made a seriously great impact. It was a difficult week for the much-loved School of Rock actor Jack Black and his Tenacious D bandmate who found themselves caught in a political controversy.

Royal Mail Knock-a-door Run
Royal Mail encouraged former cheeky kids who enjoyed the classic British game of knock-a-door-run to apply to become a Postman this week!
The post successfully knocked on the funny bones of Brits; with people praising the copy in multiple posts on LinkedIn, Reddit and Twitter.
Lucy Jones – Junior Copywriter:“Tell us you know your target audience without telling us you know your target audience. Humour and nostalgia work every time! And who didn’t love a bit of knock-a-door run?”
Furby Makes Mischief In NYC
Toy manufacturer Hasbro turned The Big Apple into one big 90s nostalgia fest with an immersive Furby activation across the city.
The #furbywazhere campaign which runs from July 10th to July 17th is stopping New Yorkers in their tracks with a series of surprise and delight moments such as pink glitter blotches splattered on pavements and fur-lined park benches, trash cans and parking cones.
New York, but make it cute!
Lee Hughes – Creative Intern:“Furby has definitely tickled my brain with this glitter bomb of a campaign, so much so that I almost forgot how terrifying those little fur balls were when I was a kid.”
#TeamSeas Is “Doing More Than The UN”
YouTubers Mr Beast and Mark Rober, the duo behind the international collaborative fundraiser #TeamSeas, removed 30 million pounds of trash from the ocean this week – winning headlines for arguably doing more than the UN…
The collaborative fundraiser powered by the hashtag #teamseas has made an incredible impact so far, fundraising more than 30 million dollars.
Adam Moss – Creative & News Director:“8.3 million tons of plastic are discarded in the seas every year. It’s an issue close to everyone’s hearts. It is a mammoth job to clean our seas, but the TeamSeas project is clearly leading the way. Terrible PR for the UN though, which needs to quickly pull its finger out.”

Tenacious D Tour CANCELLED
The comedy band duo Jack Black and Kyle Gass were forced to cancel their world tour this week after Gass made a controversial joke about the recent assignation of Donald Trump during a recent performance in Sydney.
The joke has caused such backlash that Gass has now even been dropped by his talent agent and both stars have had their Australian visas revoked…
We won’t repeat it.
Jess Redfearn – Midweight Creative:“A terrible mistake and a severe lack of judgement.”
