TWITTER TESTS NEW ENCRYPTED DIRECT MESSAGES

Has Twitter finally decided to step-up its game with product development and privacy?
This week, Twitter announced will be rolling out end-to-end encryption, allowing users to send messages securely on the platform.
The move suggests it’s trying to play catch up with the likes of WhatsApp and Facebook, who rolled out this feature over a year ago.
Twitter’s feature is dubbed the ‘secret conversation’ and will apparently be available in the conversation info section of the app when direct messaging – a good step in the right direction for securing user privacy.

INSTAGRAM IS TESTING NEW MUSIC STICKER OPTION FOR STORIES

Instagram is reportedly testing a new option for Stories, that allows users to add a music clip over their Story, adding another functionality to this rising format.
The feature can also detect music playing in real-time and gives users the options to add it via a music note sticker.
Interesting move by Instagram, as it continues to place dynamic, content curation at the heart of its strategy.

INSTAGRAM TRIALS IN-APP PAYMENT GIVING USERS THE OPTION TO ‘INSTA-PAY’

Instagram first made moves to make the platform ‘shopping ready’ late last year when it rolled out the shopping tag feature. Seems the next steps towards making the platform completely ecommerce isn’t far behind as it starts to trial ‘Insta-Pay’.
The new feature is showing for select users and lets you enter payment details into the app, along with a PIN for extra security. Instagram has said the new feature will allow fans to go as far as booking cinema tickets via the app. Watch this space!
