FACEBOOK INTRODUCES NEW TARGETING OPTION FOR ADS

Facebook has rolled out a new targeting option for ads, allowing users to now target those at the early stages of consideration when booking a holiday, or travelling. Facebook will use platform data & behaviour trends gathered from both Facebook & Instagram to allow marketers to target this new group. Facebook research shows ‘68% of millennials found ideas for their most recent trip on Facebook, & 60% found them on Instagram’. Is your brand taking advantage of this new feature?

TWITTER TESTS NEWS-FIRST FEED

Twitter users could soon see the biggest news events first when opening their app. The platform is currently placing priority on news articles, whereas Facebook is choosing to do the opposite, as they continue to fight an ongoing battle with ‘fake news’ on the platform.
Buzzfeed reports that the staff at Twitter will curate a news agenda that appears at the top of the feed, placing less priority on content sent by brands and family & friends.
