FACEBOOK FINALLY REVEALS USAGE STATS FOR STORIES
Facebook has announced that its Stories format now attracts 150 million daily active users, despite rumours the service had failed to gain popularity amongst Facebook’s userbase. Though this still falls well short of WhatsApp stories’ 450 million daily active users and Instagram Stories’ 300 million, it does put added pressure on Snapchat, which has a total userbase of just 191 million and has seen growth slow in recent months.
INSTAGRAM ADDS OPTION TO SHARE POSTS TO STORIES
Instagram has released a new feature allowing users to share posts from public accounts into their Stories alongside the username of the original poster. Brands will be happy to hear about this update, which gives users another way to share third party content on the platform, but as the feature is currently only available on Android, iPhone users will have to wait.
FACEBOOK IS DEVELOPING ITS OWN INFLUENCER MARKETPLACE
Influencer marketing is becoming an increasingly pivotal part of any brand’s social media strategy, and Facebook is making moves to capitalise on the growth of brand partnerships, testing its own influencer marketplace platform. The tool allows brands to select their target audience by demographic and interest factors, then returns a list of registered influencers who fit the brief, with an overview of their follower numbers and engagement stats.
