FACEBOOK’S GOT TALENT

Facebook could be about to take on the likes of Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor, as its currently testing a ‘Talent Show’ feature that allows users to record their own version of popular tracks and submit them for approval. This news comes shortly after Facebook announced a series of music partnerships which grant users the right to soundtrack their Facebook video content with tracks from top chart artists, suggesting the network is looking to claim a major stake in the music industry.

INSTAGRAM TESTS REGIONAL STORIES OPTION

Instagram is reportedly testing an option to allow users to limit who can see their stories by geographical region. This new function has major implications for international brands, which would be able to create tailored content for each region in order to better adapt stories to account for differing cultural norms and local national holidays.

SNAPCHAT LAUNCHES NEW INFLUENCER PROGRAM

Snapchat has launched a new program labelled Snapchat Storytellers designed to make it easier to pair up brands and influencers for sponsored content. As the program is currently in early stages of testing, there are only a select group of influencers involved at present, but if successful it’s likely Snapchat could roll this option out to include a wider portfolio of influencers in order to better rival Facebook’s Brand Collabs Manager tool.
