BRAZEN’S TOP TRAVEL TIPS: MALAYSIA

As a PR agency with expertise in travel, here at Brazen we love a trip away to make sure we know the latest industry news and can tell our Bermudas from our Brightons.

Travel is a key passion of mine and I recently took a trip to Malaysia to take in the delights of one of 2018’s must-visit destinations.

South East Asia has long since been popular with tourists, but better known countries like Thailand and Cambodia have been the leading destinations. However, with its luscious green jungle areas, bustling cities and white sand beaches, Malaysia is fast becoming the place to be.

The Metro gave its top six reasons why you should visit Malaysia, but here’s three of mine:

Best for mountain dwellers: Sarawak in Borneo

As the third biggest island in the world, Borneo is made up of three countries: Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia. Among the many stunning national parks that make up Borneo live half of all known plant and animal species in the world and visitors here can get the opportunity to see orang-utans, the Sumatran rhino, and the Bornean pygmy elephant in their natural habitat.

Best for beach bums: Perhentian Islands

Situated to the north of Malaysia, the two islands, Perhentian Kecil and Perhentian Besar, boast white sand beaches, bright turquoise sea and striking green mountains. Wifi is sparse and accommodation tends to take the form of small, basic shacks, but who needs a luxurious hotel when you can spend all day diving and sunbathing?

Best for city slickers: Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur has something for everyone. From modern shopping centres to vibrant street food markets, the natural Batu Caves to the impressive Petronas towers, the capital city mustn’t be missed

For those considering their next long-haul destination, Malaysia is a great choice and well worth a trip. Oh, and most importantly, the food is delicious!
